Emma J. Walsh

  Statement - 2017

Walsh is a Fine Art graduate from Norwich University of the Arts currently studying a Masters of Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (UAL)

Walsh’s work derives from the idea of human interaction and causation to our surroundings. Working with the environment, space and place, Walsh focuses upon our daily influence and choices when moulding our existence. Whether it is: rural or urban, built or un-built, hypothetical or actual Walsh explores the fragments of our being that alter our sense of place, space and 'non-place'. Focusing upon the wanderer, the explorer and urban walking within today’s civilisation, Walsh questions; "How far have we (the public) become controlled when investigating public spaces within today’s hyper-modernity society?"
